Kos is a small Greek island near the Turkish shore and home to a broad variety of antique myths and stories. Today it is a popular tourist destination like many places along the Mediterranean Sea. In between history and tourism lies the everyday world of Kos’ small cities, villages and shoreline. Looking for the reality of Kos beyond touristic sites and stereotypes, mundane and improvised moments were captured on analogue film.

Kos ist eine kleine, griechische Insel nahe der türkischen Küste und das Zuhause einer Vielzahl an Mythen und Geschichten. Heute ist es – wie viele Orte entlang des Mittelmeeres – eine beliebte Tourist*innen-Destination. Zwischen Geschichte und Tourismus liegt die alltägliche Welt von Kos Kleinstädten, Dörfern und Küstenregion. Auf der Suche nach Kos Realität fernab von Attraktionen und Stereotypen wurden alltägliche Momente und improvisierte Gegenstände auf analogen Film gebannt.
